Hawthorne Race Course

Diego Sanchez is being evaluated at Loyola Medical Center following an incident in Hawthorne’s second race. Miss Palatine broke down leaving the turn, throwing Sanchez to the ground. Sanchez is awake and responsive. Medics suspect a concussion but no further injuries. Miss Palatine was euthanized.

Hawthorne Race Course

This is a fun little contest, Santa Anita did one this year as well (which I did horrible in). Pretty much pick a horse that will EITHER WPS in any race everyday. Last man/women standing wins. The goal of Hawthorne's Spring Thoroughbred Survivor Contest is to select one horse from each race card of the 2011 Hawthorne Race Course Spring Thoroughbred racing meet to finish first, second or third. If successful on Day No. 1, you move on to Day No. 2, and so on. The handicapper who last the longest will receive the prize of $2,500. The deadline to make each daily selection is 30 minutes prior to the scheduled 1st post. Scratches/Changes will be made available 90 minutes prior to the scheduled 1st post. If a selection is scratched, you receive the actual post-time favorite. Note: This is an online contest. No selections will be made by phone or via e-mail. To enter the contest, complete the electronic registration form. Hawthorne Race Course must receive all registrations by 30 minutes prior to scheduled 1st post on February 18, 2011. The registration Period begins February 3, 2011. Contestants must provide name, e-mail address and a password. No faxed, electronically mailed or phoned in entries are allowed. One entry per person (regardless of whether one person has more than one e-mail address). Duplicate entries are cause for disqualification of all involved entries.
