http://www.niagarathisweek.com/news-story/3838458-herpes-outbreak-leads-to-horse-shortage/ A herpes outbreak has quaranteened several barns on the grounds at Woodbine cutting into both racing populations at Fort Erie and locally. I heard that two horses had already been euthanized and the next few weeks of racing dates may be in jeopardy.

Fort Erie

Well, it looks like we'll have to say so long to Fort Erie. The 2012 racing season is done and there and it is possible that there may be no 2013 season. Thanks for a good 115 years, and passing on champions like Northern Dancer through to the Kentucky Derby and beyond. It's been good.
