I see in a report in the Times Ledger that a Queens senator is planning on holding the NYRA's feet to the fire to make needed capital improvements at Aqueduct. According to the article, Aqueduct has received the least amount of money for improvements even though it generates the second largest betting handle for the NYRA after Belmont. The betting handle for each track from 2011-2013 as a percentage of NYRA total is as follows: Belmont 39.67, Aqueduct 31.13, and Saratoga 25.20. Supposedly last year Aqueduct got the largest share of money of the three tracks, but given the conditions at the track discussed in various newspapers, makes one wonder where the money went.

If you were watching Aqueducts 3rd race today,you would of seen. The bad guys in the industry are not only the biases' and other charecters like him. The long list also includes the crooks that actually over see the "SO CALLED INTEGRITY" of the game. The #1 horse broke through the gate before the race,he ran off about 30 yards. Mind you he was the 2nd choice in the betting. Rather than the track vet inspect him for any injuries or allow him to walk in front of them.They immediately loaded him to race. He broke sluggishly and pulled up ,never finishing the race. You see today there are many people betting,the pools are larger. NYRA did not want to refund all the money bet on the 2nd choice. So they screwed the public that wagered on him. Just to make a buck That is all they care about in this game,that and to protect their pet connections. It would not surprise me one day,if one of the pet trainers actually stuck a needle in the horses ass on the track. There would not be any repercussions.The heads are looking to make money elsewhere.

tmallios · Kay if you want more proof. Look at the 4th race at Aq.,note the #6 (co-favorite) Was dropping drastically in class into a 12,500 claimer. The horse on the turn buckled and almost went down. He was being eased at the end. How the hell did this horse pass the stewards in the morning and on the track.Where is the responsibility to the gambling public. I did not bet any of the 2 horses i mentioned.When i see Red Flags,i run away. I do not think they are to good to pass up. The owner was Repole,you cannot blame him or the trainer. They have to run their horses. The track supervisors are responsible for the fans protection. · 3218 days ago
kay.robinett · Seeing a huge drop in class is one of the biggest red flags there is in racing. I wish something more could be done to single out such horses for extra pre race examinations for health and soundness. · 3218 days ago

Nice article about some improvements at the NY tracks, particularly Aqueduct and the advertising being done at Yonkers and The Meadowlands in the Wall Street Journal Friday's edition. Many on the NYRA want even more money spent refurbishing the NY tracks, particularly Aqueduct.

Until i knew better,we were there every weekend with my friends. But ever since the NYRA/State run game have turned Racing into a second class citizen ,as well as a 4 letter word. So I was doing some reading online and stumbled across this extremely disturbing article. Now normally something of this nature Iwould not post on this site. However since this horrible incident happened at Aqueduct, and I had not heard one thing reported on it, I will post the Article here and leave you all to pass your own judgement. NYRA needs to do something about this disgusting act. I hope the guy they arrested was the rapist, as anyone who would rape a mentally disabled woman in a public place is no one to have roaming around freely in societyI am very glad that the two tracks I usually go to - Turfway and Keeneland - are both in nice areas (just wish they were closer than two states away) and I have never felt a moment's worry at either one. When Detroit Race Course was still open we often went there, and again, I never felt a moment of fear. I have often wished they would open up a track in this area (Ann Arbor/Detroit) again (despite the failure of Pinnacle), but I surely hope it would not have the problems you guys are describing at Aqueduct (shudder). · 3249 days ago

Age of Reason,yesterday you responded to a statement i made about what is wrong with Racing. Let me read to you a quote from todays N.Y Daily News. State Lawmaker Phil Goldfeder rips New York Racing Association for allowing Aqueduct Racetrack(A.K.A. The Big Sleezy) to become dangerous,dirty and dowdy. It states that since 2011 opening of the Racino,$64 million has gone to N.Y.R.A. It mentions how funds were allocated for renovations at Belmont Park and Saratoga . What it does not spell out,yet intimates strongly by ripping NYRA. Do not know if you are aware of this,King Cuomo in NY has appointed the NYRA Heads. It consists of famous celebrities/celebrity owners and the BLUEST iof Bloods. They do not have any horses that run on a regular basis at The Sleezy. Their horses are down in Florida along with Almost Famous soaking up the rays(sorry for using your line Laurie,like i told you patrick got a chuckle out of it) .The only time they might run here are on Wood Day or Cigar Mile Day. They can rough it in the exclusive dining area on the extreme top floor. The one that is away from the peons who support them. You see age,when they get rid of the real crooked element. The guys making the decisions in this game,and not the trainers who are accused of juicing. Then this game might have a chance to survive. You see,regardless of their motives or anything else. They have destroyed te foundation of the Racing Game to more than likely. The Point of no Return.They wonder why people do not go out to the Tracks. What incentive do the real shady group give them. Iknow,be disrespected and put in danger.

Amino on this Final 4 Sunday in the NFL. Very interesting horse in Race 4 by the feed program. Warning Trackpower was entered a couple of weeks ago for the $20K claiming price 1rst out. Suspiciously scratched after i know for a fact claims were put in. Low and behold ,the master of the game returns today for a $50K price tag. Must of visited an insurance broker in the time of abscence. Sure protected his investment. 12-1 ML only makes it that much appealing. Works are slow,but who cares.

Nathan,big day for Maylan at The Big Seedy today. Ran 2nd in the first race at 47-1 (thankfully i am loyal to friends) .In the 6th ,i loved her horse at 9-1 and she got nailed at the wire by the 3/2 chalk. The girl is riding good and strong.

Amino,where are you? haven't heard from you. Don't tell me you took Discreet Marqs loss worse tha i did. Seriously hope all is well. On Wed. at the Big Seedy, will make another go pending approval. Forgot to ask your opinion.Did you see that Pletcher 2yo filly on Saturday in the 2nd. Very nice. Also the killer colt in the 5th.How good must that Shirreffs colt be that beat him first out. Hopefully will chat manana.

Amino,just to let you know.Maylan had a little accident in the morning works yesterday. She was thrown from a horse. From all indications she is relaxing and nothing serious.She just returned from a bad fall in the mornings a litle while ago. Just a reminder,i know i am guilty as charged, we come down on rides many times.This is a dangerous profession. Today at Seedy,race 6 seems to be very interesting. Away Game ,i have been following.Has had 2 races against bias.Now gets the distance he has been crying out for. Blow Torch ,King Kongrats is in . Must play ,just to get back what he took in case he lights up the board. Also Sullivan,if you are on.Your guy Special Agent is running,also getting much needed distance.This is the one you liked and i questioned not getting a higher profile jock. Franco has return ride.But he is capable.

Any time the tracks cancel,i am assuming they take this factor as the major reason.That being said,the weather in NY this morning is not as bad as predicted.Matter of fact the rains stopped earlier. I think with the big cards coming up this weekend,this move was more precautionary to insure a better track. · 3347 days ago

Snoop,hearing to many things about a horse named after a bridge in the Gotham area. This early is scary good. Cutie has finally picked up an agent(not moi) hopefully will help bootstrap career. Thursday on the prowl again for roomate for the 2 boys. Give me your opinion on tommorrows first at Seedy Palace ,before i let you know.
