I grew up on a horse farm in the mountains of Mansfield, Australia, best known for the movie "The Man From Snowy River". My riding career began chasing sheep, cattle and kangaroos around the family farm. Soon I was competing in cross country and show jumping events. My biggest accomplishment at the time was competing and winning the Great Mountain Race, a treacherous 2 mile cross country race. I was the youngest person ever to win at 19. A local trainer asked if I was interested in riding race horses. In a short time I found myself working for one of the best trainers in Australia, Allen Bailey. At the age of 22, a job offer came up in Japan breaking horses and managing Haisai farm. Two years later I had to leave Japan to extend my visa. I thought the states would be a fun place to visit, and I never looked back. I began working for for some of the best trainers in the business, including Charlie Whittingham and Bob Baffert. In 2003 I bought a 3yr old filly and started living my dream of becoming a trainer. With support of my family, friends, and great clients, I've been able to live my dream. I pride myself on being a true horseman. My background of handling and breaking babies, as well as working with some of the best in the business, has given me knowledge and great success with young horses. I've been fortunate to broker the sales of multi-million dollar horses, and year after year turning inexpensive yearlings into profitable race horses. I have been blessed to have a job I love, with loyal clients and staff that are like family. "Everyday is a holiday, every meal, a banquet". I have enjoyed over 20 years of experience in the Thoroughbred racing industry. I truly believe the best way of owning a good horse is buying them as yearlings or 2yr olds in training. FirstHome Thoroughbreds, along with its partners, has achieved outstanding results purchasing both yearlings and 2 year old horses, who have gone on to produce profitable track records. Some of FirstHome Thoroughbred's success stories include multiple stakes winner Zada Belle, who sold privately for $3,150,000.00, Vikki's Honor purchased as a 2 yr old in training for $32,000.00 and went on to make $310,672.00, as well as multiple stakes winners Indian Breeze, Carbella, Miss Dixie Dancer, Dixie High, Chips All In to name just a few.
