A mile and a half distance compromises most horses. Front runner, closer, mid pack, does not make a damn difference. Pedigree, and rider will determine the eventual winner. Look at all bloodlines, and forget about the odds. Good luck to all.
As a former owner, i can tell u, that trainers, by far, are the worst handicappers.
Be nice.
Really dumb decision by O'Brien to ship the horse back n forth. Why? The travelling alone will be a negative for this horse, to be at peak condition.TheCup, n the Classic. Good luck with dat.
Bravo,Pro, most intelligent comment on this thread. If they are lucky, maybe one ore two at most, may make it to May 2019. Never believed in racing two year olds, like they do today. January 2019, provides ample time to condition and prepare a young horse. U wonder why they have such a high injury, and career ending rate.? Been dere n dun dat.
Exactly right, anthony. As a former owner, i will tell all, young thoroughbreds are the most fragile, n unpredictable animals. I hope all are able to stay healthy, n sound, just to be able to continue racing, much less, run in the derby.
i was a former Jersey owner, and our trainer was Sam Sacco. Not sure of the relationship, but Sam was a fine horseman, and trainer. Congratulations to Gregg, and look forward to his continued success.
As a former owner, it has been my experience that most two year olds are unpredictable, and erratic. Serious wagering should be met with caution.
hmmmmm. Interesting comments. The horse that finishes first will win the BC. Nuff said.
As a former owner, now you know why there is no such thing, as a LOCK.
