Older Comments about the Kentucky Oaks...

1st- Rosalind, 2nd- Untappable, 3rd- Ria Antonia
What do you guys think the M/L for the Oaks will look like? Specifically, Untapable?
If ever a statement rang true. Oh what a difference a year makes. In last years rendition, the Oaks was a more anticipated race than its more Famous Kentucky Derby. In this years race,Untapable stands head and shoulders over her rivals. Not saying she is as good, but her dominance is on par with Rachels when she ran in the Oaks. The sad part is that likely 2nd choice in the wagering My Sophia holds a similar advantage on the filly or fillies ranked 3rd. Lets hope for great racing from the undercard Stakes. The Oaks promises to be a possible walkover.

  • EP Taylor · Euro- I am sure they are hoping to get some good dirt runners out of Ashford from stallions like Stay Thirsty, Fu Peg, Dunkirk, Thunder Gulch. · 3150 days ago
Fiftyshadesofgold is my Oaks pick.
long cold winter we are waiting for the trumpet to blow--saddles up
mi ke smith bota... princess sylmar.. una historia.. "agha khan..persia y la india... "princess shalyma"..perssia....
3 wins for Todd Pletcher
The ladies are looking good...
Well I must say, this Is the most exciting race that's come across my view In a while. Im really pulling for Unlimited Budget & Close Hatches, I personally think they are both coming Into this race In top form. DOJ had a dominating performance last time out, I also think she's In for a great shot. The one thing that's really bugging me Is Princess of Sylmar morning line 20-1. I cant believe how high the morning line Is on her . . I know one thing, Im betting a'lot of exotics this race. I think Close Hatches at 6-1 Is about right, all though I do think she will win . . She only raced three times, that's where the other filly's have somewhat of a edge. But like I said Close Hatches & Unlimited Budget, both sitting on a dominating performance.
1. Silsita 20/1 2. Midnight Lucky 9/2 3. Beholder 7/2 4. Unlimited Budget 7/2 5. Seaneen Girl 20/1 6. Princess of Sylmar 20/1 7. Pure Fun 30/1 8. Dreaming of Julia 3/1 9. Rose to Gold 15/1 10. Flashy Gray 15/1 11. Close Hatches 6/1
The ladies are looking good, although Flashy Gray looked off to me...
  • UnionRagsRules · I think she looked alright. I still think if Dreaming Of Julia presses early no one will catch her. · 3504 days ago
  • Horsefan90 · Really like how Close Hatches is doing. · 3504 days ago
was just looking at the oaks.field is incredible.the play here will definately be value related.but the filly must also be able to run.i am not looking for a flyer.the filly i am leaning to is close hatches.she is developing at a very nice pace.her trainer bill mott never rushes them.remember royal delta as a 3yo.all the other fillies have basically fired a big salvo to date.hatches has been consistent and developing.many will try to sell you hat she ran on a inside biased surface in her not buy the following races an outside closer won the carter and the top 3 finishers in the wood all stalked outside.the rail was good that day,but for the cheaper caliber horse.i do not believe she will need the lead to win.but if the others try to play a cat and mouse game.joel just might send her and never look back.i believe she will more than likely be 4th choice(maye i am being generous) julia and midnight should take the bulk of the money.making the rest of the field attractive.the difference is, i truly believe hatches might be the best of them all.

  • tcglory · Unlimited Budget hasnt needed any more gears then 1st to easily beat the competion. But if your looking at final preps and visual greatness it was clearly DOJ · 3514 days ago
  • bettorthanlucky · DOJ is one to beat for sure... She seems to be a different horse when she makes an easy lead, which will be tough in this field... It will take a great race by one of these fillies to win that race... · 3514 days ago
i would like to alert you to a very serious 3yo (N.Y. bred ) filly.her name is Lovely Sin.she is trained by dominic schettino.her sire is she will not be running in the oaks.she has run twice at aqueduct.both effortless romps in serious speed figure races.keep an eye on this not know if her connections will keep her in restricted company or try open.either way, this is one serious filly.

Ohh this ones gonna be a headache to handicap and bet. Rose to Gold just won looking really good, so I just dont know who really is the best here. Should be a great race but idk.
do not know about the rest of you,but don't look now.the Ky. Oaks is shaping up as a much more interesting race than the have 6 super high quality fillies that can all win.this arguably will be the best field for the oaks in the past 15 years.the star power is tremendous.the boys will get all the headlines . but i think the girls potentially may put on a better show

  • railbird33 · t_v Great point. We both watch each year for the set-up to see if there are any speed biases. · 3521 days ago
  • travel_vic · The differences, year to yaer, are enormous. One yaer a few back, an undefeated, never headed filly just STOPPED in the lane. Afleet Alex and Giacomo were the splitzacta that year: deep movers for that grouping. · 3521 days ago
#3 is lucky for me so I'm looking for Midnight Lucky to win her third race, the Oaks!
I really hope Beholder romps in the SA Oaks. That would make the KY Oaks a hell of a race. And my chances of getting Midnight Lucky at 4/1 would increase. I would say Dreaming of Julia 6/5, Beholder 2/1, Unlimited Budget 3/1 and Midnight Lucky 4/1... Dreaming of Julia looked like a monster last time out. Its gonna take a hell of a race from anyone else to beat her but in my opinion these are very very good fillies and if one of the top 4 wins the race, I think The Preakness is a great possibility...
Anybody know anything about Calistoga
My Oaks top three as of now: 1st: Princess of Sylmar; 2nd: Pure Fun; 3rd: Midnight Lucky
  • tcglory · pure fun she has raced what 8 times and took her that long to put in a race like that. I gotta see her run like that again to put her on my list just to make shure she wasnt a fluke · 3569 days ago
