Last work was 6 furlongs in 1:22 ?!?!? Did something go wrong?
Won the Zia Park Championship today.
Big shout out to Gun Runner for putting "handicapping ignorance" and the whole "He never won at the distance so he cant handle it" close minded silliness on display during the Classic..You were the "most likely winner" and you did not disappoint!...(You would have won if the race was 2 miles long)...Thanks Gun!..
Joe Sharp announces that G1 winner Girvin will be freshened and will race in 2018, he will return to the Fair Grounds around the new year.
Probably he will be better stallion than racehorse.
American Pharoah, of course!!
Who is the greatest racehorse of the 21st century so far? I personally think AP, what does everyone else think?
The two big, historically defining 9 furlong tests at Aqueduct are still to go, LA's big 2 y/o test as well, so at this point NO ONE gets a vote.
As a Voter...Who would you give 2 year old champion honors to right now?..Good Magic or Bolt d Oro?....

Bolt d Oro is 3 for 4 lifetime (including winning at first asking..Won 1st 3 lifetime starts that included 2 Grade 1 wins and a 3rd Place in the Grade 1 Juvenile)...Good Magic is 1 for 3 lifetime (1 Grade 1 win and 1 Grade 1 placing)...Taking "every" aspect of these 2 careers into consideration, Bolt d Oro clearly deserves the award right now...

BIG news out of Minnesota. https://www.paulickreport.com/news/the-biz/canterbury-park-unveils-400-million-redevelopment-project/
It's very difficult for a horse, stallion or mare, to duplicate themselves in the breeding shed. It's a genetic crapshoot, pretty much.
tabor owns it ,,amazing
Part of being a great racehorse is by beating competitions who are on their winning forms. Here is a Winning Form Validation for California Chrome: namely by looking at all the horses who ran second to him in graded stakes races and [Checking out their winning record in the next 3 races within the next 6 months]. Midnight Hawk (G2 San Felipe Stakes): 0 win in 2 races Hoppertunity (G1 SA Derby): 0 win in 0 race (6 months off) Commanding Curve (G1 Kentucky Derby): 0 win in 3 races Ride On Curlin (G1 Preakness): 0 win in 1 race Lexie Lou (G1 Hollywood Derby): 0 win in 2 races Imperative (G2 San Pasqual Stakes): 0 win in 3 races Mubtaahij (G1 DWC): 0 win in 2 races Beholder (G1 Pacific Classic): back down to distaff after that race Dortmund (G1 Awesome Again): 0 win in 2 races So California Chrome was validated in his graded stakes wins by 9 different 2nd place horses who had 0 wins in 15 combined starts (in their next respective 3 races with 6 months of running second to Chrome). I also did a winning form validation for Arrogate and he was validated by a score of 5 wins in 6 combined starts. Any suggestion on which top horse(s) in recent years I should do a winning form validation for next?
From the Racing Post web-site: Trainer Aidan O'Brien tells the Racing Post that Winter, 4-time G1 winner of the English 1000 Guineas, Irish 1000 Guineas, Coronation Stakes, & Nassau Stakes is set to be retired at the age of three, and will head off to broodmare status next season. O'Brien went on to say that Roly Poly & Highland Reel will both likely to head to Hong Kong for the Mile & Vase, which O'Brien said will probably be the final race for both. O'Brien hinted that Hydrangea & Rhododendron could both stay in training next year, but said that decision hasn't been written in stone yet.
Classic example of a "theoretical" that bombed. as MOST handicapping based pedigrees usually do. Do yourself a favor some time. Get a copy of the American Racing Manual, find the pages that described the most expensive yearlings, or two years olds sold EVER at auction, and then see how they did. THIS IS TRUTH not cherry picked biased reporting. Do you NOT think that the investigators behind the purchasers here did all due diligence to every aspect ot the POTENTIAL of the mating before putting down dollar ONE? With that kind of investment, SURE they did...... and they had to suffer the randomness of what is a pure guessing game in mating potentials. DUMB LUCK
No Doubt Aiden O’ Briens Best dirt horse in recent years almost won the Classic a few years ago
  • ILuvTurfRacing · Almost won a Classic in his one and only career start on conventional dirt, as was the same with Giant's Causeway in 2000. · 6 hours ago
Question time!!! Who’s the World’s best sire right now? I would say Galileo
  • Show All 4 Comments
  • SharedBelief1 via Disqus · You would have to be mentally unstable to say otherwise... He has 20% GRADED stakes horses. He has 10 million dollars more earnings than any other active sire. He has 26 Grade 1 stakes horses this year. He was present in the pedigrees of 6/8 of the Cartier Award Winners. He has sired 67 graded stakes horses this year. In comparison, Candy Ride the leading active sire in America has 16. There is no question who the greatest sire is. · 6 hours ago
  • joe rifkin via Disqus · Medaglio d Oro...Well he is my favorite sire...Has like 7 or 8 G1 winners this year...Not sure where he ranks as a sire..Has to be up there somewhere though.. · 4 hours ago
