  • shackleford · Wicked Strong didn't disappoint anyone today. East Coast favorites may have, but he stepped up big time. · 1294 days ago
  • tmallios · Sugar coating, are you serious. Have you paid attention to who i have been talking about for the past 3 months. What he did today is no shock to me. You are the one overreacting and acting like a teenager who found love for the first time. This horse came in the race head and shoulders the best.He left the same way. Now he has to stay healthy. He has proven that he has no equal on the track, hell he proved that 2 races back. But like i told people based on what i saw last year up close. Being the best can only take you so far, there are other issues to deal with · 1294 days ago

Help! Where is this going to be broadcasted? NBC sports? I'm in college and have a hard time finding these!

favoritos sta. anita derby. 1/california chrome 2/candy boy...
Some interesting occurances on this big day of racing on the Wrong Left Coast. Snoop,in the opener pal Shirreffs reportedly has the real deal in the World renowned Art Museum.Sullivan Pal Aaron the Rider gets the leg up. Anne do not fret about Gary and Tiger, will not swear to its validity. But Gary was asked to commit to Ria throughout the year for the chance to ride her in the S.A. Oaks ,he balked at the generous offer from such outstanding and trusted owners. Finally we come to Chrome, like i said earlier in the week. By the looks of the field, he has to be less than full strength to win this one. Also a win is not really needed should Candy Boy be fully cranked. But unfortunately for him,he is running on the wrong surface. Yes he won on the dirt in his last. But in pedestrian clocking. Hoppy is just out for a maintanance race and the rest are Maidens or winners of a Maiden race. What promised to be an exciting race, just turned boring.

  • anneshaw · Noted that oaks jockeys are smith on RA Stevens on dances with gate so your info was probably very good. Tks · 1296 days ago
  • tmallios1 · Anne hope you are doing well. This race for CC is almost irrelevant in my eyes.I till am puzzled as to why they are even running him. Even if he wins or finishes 2nd,this horse will not be overly used on the track. The only thing that you will hear if he loses will be the "I told you so " He can't win at 9 furlongs and if the track is not juiced. Since he is running, all i am looking from him is to finish up strong. I will not be betting the race.' · 1296 days ago
Post position 6 outside of C.C. for Candy Boy is perfect for me. I always want the horse on the outside in the drive to the wire. Betting wise I will take the 2 standouts in the race before the Derby in a Pick 3 wager. 2 x 1 x ALL and hope to catch a price in the race following Derby. If Candy Boy goes close to 3-1 strictly a WIN bet. Good Luck to ALL.
Candy Boy v. Cali Chrome will be the best head-to-head matchup thus far in 2014. Candy Boy will win by a head.
Baffert said today he is only running Hoppertunity in the Santa Anita, and Bayern will point to the Arkansas Derby instead. I definitely think he did this looking at the fields and thinking Bayern would have an easier time at the AR derby, than SA, which i would seem to think so myself too.
  • kaitlinefree1 · completely agree with this decision. Hoppertunity already has the points to get in, as does California Chrome. Bayern does not, so why not run him in an easier spot plus give him an extra week. · 1299 days ago
Just when they say it never rains in California forecast is 70% chance of rain for the Derby. But it is a forecast that is wrong 50% of the time. Do not need a sealed track for Derby.

  • Sullivan · Good news for California Chrome... rain might soften it up, if it doesn't make it as sticky as old Sheepshead Bay · 1302 days ago
  • amino998 · Wouldn't expect any precip more than an April shower, if that. · 1302 days ago
What do I think? I think I will be driving 4 hours to Arcadia,California to see the next Kentucky Derby winner. There is no way I am going to sit in a race book when I can be there LIVE! This race is going to be something you will not want to miss. Candy Boy is my choice on paper but .....If it is hot temperature wise Santa Anita plays to speed horses and there is plenty of speed in this race. Remember what GAME ON DUDE did in the BIG CAP! It is going to be a GREAT RACE!
