The British are Coming, The British are Coming !

Top British trainer Richard Fahey and amazing Irish jockey Jamie Spencer invade Canada with " Barefoot Lady ". Jamie has  won 8 Classics, a King George, 2 Breeders' Cup races and 2 UAE Derbies so they did not travel 3559 miles to leave Toronto without a fat new purse. I'm hoping to turn a couple of Ben Franklins into a pair of Grover Clevelands today at 9 to 1 or better.

My two Franklins ( $200 ) win wager earned me $ $ 1640 , not a bad day's pay. Interestingly enough, I'm glad I had bet early and watched football games. Had I not done that I would not have bet the race when Jamie Spencer did not show up and they switched jockeys.
IRISH BRED Wigmore Hall wins the next big turf race and got a bet from me just on that notion.
actually bet just the Irish and the 3 horse here and did well
what did I tell you about IRISH BREDS!!!!
Funny, Many of the people here are MORE British than the British. Years ago on Queen Victoria's birthday, a holiday here, they asked people on a London street what day it was and almost none of them knew it!
IF you made flat bets on ALL the big year end grass events, and used NOTHING but the idea that IRISH BREDS are far superior to both the locals and all the other invaders, you would have won over $100.00 betting about 9 horses. Now whether that can continue today with 9 Kapitale (GER) 3 Stars to Shine & 2 Laughing (IRE) in there is questionable, BUT, given the past history, IT WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME!
