Sunday's 11th race (5:38pm ET) from Woodbine is the $1,000,000 Queen's Plate for 3-year-olds (foaled in Canada) traveling a mile and a quarter on Polytrack.

#1 Shaman Ghost (7-2) is fresh and brings a 3-race win streak to the table. The improving son of Ghostzapper overcame trouble to beat today's morning line favorite Danish Dynaformer in the G3 Marine. Hernandez/Lynch show a nice profit together.

#7 Danish Dynaformer (3-1) owns an ascending numbers pattern and is bred to handle today's added furlong. The patient type owns two wins at nine furlongs including the Plate Trial here June 14.

#3 Ault (30-1) is still a maiden but his numbers are on the rise and he landed the place in all three local Polytrack starts. He owns one of the better long distance pedigrees in the field and might spice up the exotics.

#9 Breaking Lucky (15-1) removes the hood and reunites with winning rider McAleney (25%, + ROI w/Baker). I like his pedigree (Lookin At Lucky/Sky Classic) and a tactical trip is expected.

The Plays:

$15 to win #1

$4 Exacta Box 1-7 ($8)

$2 Exacta 1-7/3-9 ($8)

.20 cent Trifecta 1-7/ALL/3-9 ($9.60)

Yeah, Shaman Ghost! I like to be right, and nice cha-ching for you, Jarrod. That longshot Breaking Lucky ran well for fifth.
There was a problem posting at P6 blog today. The Woodbine Pick 4 can be viewed at HorseRacingNation.Wordpress.com

Traditional to have maidens in the Queen's Plate. I like your long shot Ault, the BC bred, Jarrod. Also, Breaking Lucky who only had the one inexplicably bad race. For the more likelies: Win, Shaman Ghost. Danish Dynaformer, Portree, Academic the lone filly, and Ault. 1,7,11,4,3. Ami's Flatter: I liked him when he ran in Florida and he may have been one to include in an overall way, but I just didn't think he does enough late, although he could definitely be passing the tired ones.
One thing Jim Bannon has pointed out several times during his seminars at Woodbine: when Poly track heats up, it gets faster. We are going to have a warm day here: watch for any POLY track bias as the races progress into the warmer afternoon as many a Queen's Plate (OF LATE) have been won wire to wire.
