Saturday's 9th race (4:37PM PT) from Santa Anita Park is the Grade 2 Strub Stakes for 4-year-olds traveling a mile and an eighth on the main track.

#3 Twirling Candy (1-1) exits a determined stalk/pounce win in the local Grade 1 Malibu at seven panels and he won the Grade 2 Del Mar Derby at this distance on the weeds last summer. His only setback in six tries was a 4th place finish in the Goodwood and the Today's Racing Digest clocker was impressed with his recent seven furlong work here. I am not sure that this is his best distance but he does not meet a stellar cast and should pick up another Graded victory. Joel Rosario is 4-for-4 with him.

#4 Tweebster (5-1) is on the improve and has fired Trifecta shots in eight straight. He has the 47% Bejarano/Baffert team in his corner and projects a tactical trip. He's the likely upsetter should the favorite stub his toe.

#8 Oilisblackgold (8-1) usually runs his race and appears best on dirt. He is training well and could easily land a share.

The Plays: $1 Trifecta Key 3/4-8/ALL ($12), $1 Trifecta 3/ALL/4-8 ($12), $1 Trifecta Box 3-4-8 ($6)
