Wednesday's 7th race (5:10pm PT) from Del Mar is the $80,000 Wickerr Stakes for 3-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the turf course (rail at 6 feet).

#8 Global View (5-1) appears to be rounding back into form. Last year's G2 American Derby hero finished a even 6th in his downhill return March 13. He was a distant 3rd to classy rivals Midnight Storm and Gabriel Charles (won G1 Eddie Read Saturday) April 16 and rallied for the show (beaten less than a length) in a paceless affair won by today's rival Kulik Lodge June 12. He looks like a solid late threat for Stevens/Proctor.

#2 Footstepsinbronze (8-1) owns early/pressing versatility and fired Exacta shots in all six turf starts under today's pilot Bejarano. He runs well fresh.

#4 Kulik Lodge (7-2) is 3-for-3 on turf and 2-for-2 at this distance. He won over the local weeds last summer and has never lost with Mike Smith in the saddle.

#11 Winning Prize (5-2) has dropped six straight, mostly vs. graded rivals. The drop into this restricted spot gives him a realistic chance to rebound.

The Plays:

$15 to win #8

$8 Quinella 2-8

$3 Exacta 2-8/4-11 ($12)

6,11,10,8 o.o.f. 10 Wilkinson ran very well after the long layoff. Very close finish by the first three.
like the 3. Wilkinson looks good and a little fat.
Global View has a very good chance just wasn't sure if he'd be bet down with Stevens in the irons and I feel that he's better with the extra furlong. But wouldn't be surprised if he's right there. Sticking with my original picks, 2 & 6 with a little money on 5.
1,11,6,4. Will look later at 3, prepping for a longer race, and the returning 10.
