Saturday's 7th race (3:15pm ET) from Belmont Park is the Grade 2 True North Handicap for 3-year-olds and up dashing six furlongs on the main track.

#1 PACIFIC OCEAN (5-1) is now under the care of strong layoff trainer Dutrow and he runs well fresh. He was my value top when last seen in the G3 Underwood and did not disappoint off the shelf at 7-1 that day. He is firing Big A bullets for this, owns running style versatility, and retains Rosario.

#7 Caixa Electronica (4-1) made a move before flattening out in the G1 Met Mile last time and captured the CT Classic at 9f before that. He won a Stakes event at this distance earlier this year and gets pace to chase in his 3rd start off the shelf.

#3 Smiling Tiger (5-2) enjoys this distance and had to need his last but regular pilot Rosario abandons. I liked him last time and have to leave him in the mix.

#6 Giant Ryan (3-1) makes his first start since finishing 5th in Dubai. He is more than capable on his best day but might not be as good as he was last year.

$24 to win #1

$4 Exacta 1/3-7 ($8)

$4 Exacta 3-7/1 ($8)

A one race wonder coming from synthetic to Big Sandy could lead this field, FOR AWHILE, but at this level you have to come home fast as well. 3 5 and 7 are far more balanced, but lets see what the odds are who gets scratched and what the surface is running like before quoting an odds line
