Gold Phoenix also worked Monday for the first time since winning at the top level, drilling four furlongs in 47.8 seconds at Santa Anita. The 5-year-old gelding, already a Grade 2 winner in the 2022 Del Mar Handicap, broke through in Grade 1 company March 4 with a victory in the Frank E. Kilroe Mile. His stablemate in the Phil d'Amato barn, Hong Kong Harry, also returned to the work tab Monday after running fourth in the Kilroe.
