Works report: 15 graded-stakes winners drill Monday morning

Avenue de France, probable for Sunday's Grade 1, $400,000 Matriarch, worked an easy four furlongs in 51.2 seconds Monday morning at Santa Anita. Trained by Leonard Powell, the daughter of Cityscape was last seen finishing fifth in the Goldikova (G2) at Santa Anita on Oct. 29. She returns to the site of her only graded-stakes win to date, in the John C. Mabee (G2) on Sept. 10.

Mr. Wireless, who won the Indiana Derby (G3) and West Virginia Derby (G3) in 2021 for trainer Bret Calhoun, returned to the work tab Monday. The son of Dialed In worked four furlongs in 50.4 seconds over the Fair Grounds dirt. It was his first drill since a hard-fought allowance optional claiming victory at Churchill on Nov. 11.

Express Train (Union Rags), a Grade 1 winner (2022 Santa Anita Handicap), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Del Mar on Monday morning. It was the fifth fastest of seven works at the distance. His previous work was 39 days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed fourth in the Awesome Again (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Oct. 1 for trainer John Shirreffs.

Frank's Rockette (Into Mischief), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2020 Gallant Bloom Handicap, 2020 Prioress), worked four furlongs in 52.0 seconds at Payson Park on Monday morning. It was the 11th fastest of 12 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed 11th in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) going seven furlongs on the main track at Keeneland on Nov. 5 for trainer Bill Mott.

Avenue de France (Cityscape), a Grade 2 winner (2022 John C. Mabee), worked four furlongs in 51.2 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 55th fastest of 57 works at the distance. Her previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed fifth in the Goldikova (G2) going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on Oct. 29 for trainer Leonard Powell.

Brooke Marie (Lemon Drop Kid), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Monrovia), worked three furlongs in 35.0 seconds at Fair Grounds on Monday morning. It was the fastest of 23 works at the distance. Her previous work was 10 days ago going three furlongs at Fair Grounds. In her last start she placed seventh in the Franklin (G3) going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 16 for trainer Eddie Kenneally.

Master Piece (Mastercraftsman), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Eddie Read), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 30th fastest of 57 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed eighth in the Breeders' Cup Turf going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Nov. 5 for trainer Michael McCarthy.

Midcourt (Midnight Lute), a Grade 2 winner (2020 San Pasqual), worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Del Mar on Monday morning. It was the sixth fastest of seven works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Del Mar. In his last start he placed eighth in the Mineshaft (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Fair Grounds on Feb. 19 for trainer John Shirreffs.

Spooky Channel (English Channel), a three-time Grade 3 winner (2021 Sycamore, 2021 John B. Connally Turf Cup, 2020 McKnight), worked four furlongs in 50.4 seconds at Fair Grounds on Monday morning. It was the 42nd fastest of 78 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won the Sycamore (G3) going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 22 for trainer Jason Barkley.
