Works report: Jackie's Warrior and Clairiere return to the tab

Jackie's Warrior, the star of the dirt sprint division this year, returned to the work tab Monday morning for the first time since easily winning the Alfred G. Vanderbilt (G1) on July 30. The Steve Asmussen trainee breezed an easy four furlongs over Saratoga's dirt training track in 50.91 seconds. The son of Maclean's Music is expected to make his next start in the Forego (G1) on Aug. 27.

Asmussen also sent his two-time Grade 1 winner Clairiere out for her first work since her last start, a win in the Shuvee (G2) on July 24. The Curlin daughter worked five furlongs over the Saratoga dirt training track in 1:04.78. Clairiere is probable for the Personal Ensign (G1) on Aug. 27.

This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won the Alfred G. Vanderbilt H. (G1) going six furlongs on the main track at Saratoga on July 30 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Clairiere (Curlin), a two-time Grade 1 winner (2022 Ogden Phipps, 2021 Cotillion), worked five furlongs in 1:04.7 at Saratoga on Monday morning. It was the 7th fastest of 7 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she won the Shuvee (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Saratoga on July 24 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Ivar (BRZ) (Agnes Gold (JPN)), a Grade 1 winner (2020 Turf Mile), worked four furlongs in 51.6 seconds at The Thoroughbred Center on Monday morning. It was the 17th fastest of 23 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won the Jonathan B.
