Grade 1 winner Drain the Clock, who is pointing toward Saturday's Smile Sprint (G3) for his first start since Dubai, posted his final breeze before that return. Monday morning the son of Maclean's Music worked three furlongs in 35.26 seconds over the Gulfstream Park dirt under exercise rider Vicente Gudiel.

Drain the Clock has done much of his best work at Gulfstream Park. Though his Grade 1 win came in the H. Allen Jerkens at Saratoga last summer, Drain the Clock has finished no worse than second in six starts at the Hallandale Beach oval, including victories in the Swale (G3) and Limehouse Stakes in 2021.

Keep track of graded stakes on HRN:

The Saffie Joseph Jr. trainee is expected to be the heavy favorite in the Smile. According to a Gulfstream news release, Edwin Gonzalez will ride Drain the Clock for the first time in Saturday's race.
