Workouts: Cody’s Wish fires bullet; 45 graded winners breeze

Putting in his last work before next weekend’s Grade 1, $1 million Metropolitan Handicap at Belmont Park, popular 5-year-old Cody’s Wish turned in Saratoga’s fastest, half-mile workout Sunday.

The winner of five consecutive races was clocked at 46.8 seconds in the breeze for trainer Bill Mott. The son of Curlin is likely to be the favorite for the Met Mile on Saturday’s undercard to the Belmont Stakes.

There were 45 graded-stakes winners who appeared on work tabs Sunday across North America.
