Still looking for his first win since a Grade 1 breakthrough nearly 1 1/2 years ago, Collusion Illusion turned in a bullet workout this week at Santa Anita.

The 5-year-old horse by Twirling Candy was clocked at 59.6 seconds Monday morning, the fastest of 72 timed workouts at five furlongs.

Since winning the 2020 Bing Crosby (G1) at Del Mar, Collusion Illusion is 5: 0-2-2. He is expected to start Jan. 29 in the listed King Cotton Stakes at Oaklawn, according to trainer Mark Glatt.

Collusion Illusion was one of 24 graded-stakes winners who appeared on work tabs the past two days at North American racetracks.

Tuesday

Happy Farm (Ghostzapper), a Grade 3 winner (2019 Fall Highweight), worked four furlongs in 51.8 seconds at Belmont Park on Tuesday morning. It was the sixth fastest of 26 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed sixth in a claiming race going six furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 17 for trainer Wayne Potts.

Coinage (Tapit), a Grade 3 winner (2021 With Anticipation), worked five furlongs in 1:01.0 at Casse Training Center on Tuesday morning. It was the fastest of two works at the distance. Drain the Clock (Maclean’s Music), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Woody Stephens), worked three furlongs in 36.5 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Monday morning. It was the 13th fastest of 19 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won an allowance race going six furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 10 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.

Super Stock (Dialed In), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Arkansas Derby), worked five furlongs in 1:01.2 at Oaklawn Park on Monday morning. It was the eighth fastest of 22 works at the distance. His previous work was 15 days ago going four furlongs at Oaklawn Park. In his last start he placed second in the Poinsettia going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Oaklawn Park on Dec. 11 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
