The latest release of the Longines World's Best Racehorse rankings didn't feature a change at the top as Winx, the Australian mare who has won 25 consecutive races, continues to rate highest. But a recent Royal Ascot winner ran fast enough to out-pace Triple Crown winner Justify on the list.

Under direction of
The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, handicappers and racing officials from around the world assign the ratings to reflect a horse's single-best performance of the year.

Winx received her 130 for a victory in Royal Randwick's Queen Elizabeth Stakes, while Pegasus World Cup winner Gun Runner remains second months after his retirement with a 129.

Cracksman earned his third-place rating of 125 earlier this season. Poet's Word, who bested him last out in the June 20 Prince of Wales's Stakes at Ascot, has entered a tie for third.

Those two are a point better than the top active (at least for now) American runners with Justify's Kentucky Derby and West Coast's Pegasus runner-up efforts giving them 124s to tie for fifth.

Bob Baffert trains both of those colts and has won the last three World's Best Racehorse titles with American Pharoah in 2015 before Arrogate in both 2016 and 2017.
