A plethora of Breeders' Cup contenders at varying surfaces and distances hit the track to work on Friday morning. Grade 1 winner and Breeders' Cup Sprint hopeful Whitmore drilled 4 furlongs in :48.60 at Churchill Downs for trainer Ron Moquett. Todd Pletcher's Breeders' Cup Mile contender Halladay put forth the second fastest 4 furlong work of the day at Saratoga. The Grade 1 winner completed the 4 furlongs in :48.70. In California, Breeders' Cup Turf contender United worked an easy 6 furlongs in 1:14.80 for trainer Richard Mandella.

Whitmore (Pleasantly Perfect) a Grade 1 winner (2018 Forego) worked 4 furlongs in 48.6 at Churchill Downs on Friday morning. It was the 17th fastest of 76 works at the distance. This is his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed 7th in the Forego Presented by America's Best Racing (G1) going 7 furlongs on the main track at Saratoga on August 29 for trainer Ron Moquett.
