In her second breeze since she finished third in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff, Clairière was clocked going a half-mile in 50.0 seconds Wednesday morning at Fair Grounds.
The 5-year-old Curlin mare who is trained by Steve Asmussen worked the same distance in 52.6 seconds over the same track Thursday.

Asmussen has not declared where Clairière may make her 2023 debut.
Clairière was one of four graded-stakes winners who showed up on U.S. work tabs Wednesday.
Clairière (Curlin), a two-time Grade 1 winner (2022 Ogden Phipps, 2021 Cotillion), worked four furlongs in 50.0 seconds at Fair Grounds on Wednesday morning. It was the 13th fastest of 20 works at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In her last start she placed third in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Keeneland on Nov. 5 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
Champions Dream (Justify), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Nashua), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Casse Training Center. It was the second fastest of seven works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Casse Training Center. In his last start he won the Nashua (G3) going one mile on the main track at Aqueduct on Nov. 6 for trainer Danny Gargan.
Eons (Giant’s Causeway), a Grade 3 winner (2019 Kent), worked four furlongs in 51.6 seconds at Tampa Bay Downs. It was the 49th fastest of 53 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going three furlongs at Tampa Bay Downs. In his last start he placed seventh in the Knickerbocker (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Belmont at the Big A on Oct. 9 for trainer Arnaud Delacour.
Weyburn (Pioneerof the Nile), a Grade 3 winner (2021 Gotham), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the fourth fastest of 21 works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going three furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed sixth in the King Edward (G2) going one mile on the turf at Woodbine on Aug. 21 for trainer Rachel Halden.
