Wednesday tab: Raise Cain has first work since winning Gotham

Raise Cain, winner of the Grade 3 Gotham, drilled at Keeneland Wednesday, his first published work since picking up 50 qualifying points for Kentucky Derby 2023 with that victory.

Trainer Ben Colebook said after the race at Aqueduct that the Violence colt could return to New York for the Wood Memorial (G2) or remain at his Keeneland base for the Blue Grass (G1).

Cain was one of five graded-stakes winners with published works Wednesday.

Raise Cain (Violence), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Gotham), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Keeneland on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of three works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won the Gotham (G3) going one mile on the main track at Aqueduct on March 4 for trainer Ben Colebrook.

Pizza Bianca (Fastnet Rock), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf), worked five furlongs in 1:02.6 at Payson Park Training Center on Wednesday morning. It was the second fastest of four works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Payson Park Training Center. In her last start she placed sixth in the American Oaks (G1) going 1 1/4 miles on the turf at Santa Anita Park on Dec. 26 for trainer Graham Motion.

Cupid's Claws (Kitten's Joy), a Grade 3 winner (2020 Tokyo City Cup), worked four furlongs in 48.6 on turf at Palm Meadows Training Center on Wednesday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was 14 days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows Training Center. In his last start he placed fifth in an allowance race going 1 3/8 miles on the turf at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 28 for trainer Mark Casse.

Night Ops (Warrior's Reward), a Grade 3 winner (2020 Cornhusker), worked four furlongs in 50.5 at Parx Racing on Wednesday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 20 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in a claiming race going one mile, 70 yards on the main track at Parx Racing on Feb. 22 for trainer Scott A. Lake.

Informative (Bodemeister), a two-time Grade 3 winner (2022 Philip H. Iselin, 2021 Salvator Mile), worked five furlongs in 1:01.9 at Parx Racing on Wednesday morning. It was the third fastest of 11 works at the distance. His previous work was five days ago going five furlongs at Parx Racing. In his last start he placed fourth in the Woodward (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Belmont At The Big A on Oct. 1 for trainer Uriah St. Lewis.
