The University of Louisville's Equine Industry Program, with the support of Horse Racing Nation, continued its speaker series Wednesday featuring "An Evening with Tom Durkin."
Known for his engaging personality and rich vocabulary, as well as the humor and passion he brought to his race calls, the retired announcer discussed his illustrious career. Viewers can rewind the player below as an archive. The speaker series, which began last month with "The Business of Racetrack Surfaces," concludes Nov. 13 with a symposium on "Sports Betting and Horse Racing." These are free but ticketed events with more information available by contacting Liz Young at firstname.lastname@example.org or (502) 852-7617.
An intense, four-year track, the Equine Industry Program gives students the professional skills they need to succeed in the horse industry covering equine economics, marketing and law, among other topics. Small class sizes are emphasized along with individualized advising.
