Horse Racing Nation's Ed DeRosa and Sara Elbadwi were joined by handicapper Matthew DeSantis Tuesday evening to discuss the upcoming week at Saratoga. Highlighted by the Grade 1 Whitney on Saturday, this week features Thoroughbred stars such as Golden Pal, Life is Good, Olympiad and many more.
The trio also recapped the events of the third week of the summer meet, including the win by Epicenter in the Jim Dandy (G2). Has Epicenter fully stamped himself as the top 3-year-old, or does he have more to prove? Will a win by someone else in the Travers (G1) change the public opinion?
They discussed the competitive jockey colony and which riders' mounts are outperforming their odds the most. Some jockeys are being over-bet by the public, and there might be opportunities this week to play against vulnerable favorites who will take money solely based on connections.
