Tuesday's Best Bet: Shred the Rules can show the way in Roadrunner

October 30, 2018 01:47pm
Tuesday’s ninth race from Zia Park is the $50,000 Roadrunner Stakes for 3-year-olds and up dashing six furlongs on the main track.

#5 SHRED THE RULES (8-1) is a sharp gelding with speed, and he looks interesting at a price if he handles this oval. Eikleberry is 3-for-9 with Arnett recently.

#6 Cowboy Cool
(7-2) likes this course and distance, and he fired exacta shots in five of his last six outings. An outside stalking trip is expected, and his best number this year was earned in a sharp win at this distance April 7.

#2 Stallwalkin’ Dude
(4-5) has a ton of back class, and he got a spin around the local oval in a neck defeat as the heavy favorite off a layoff Sept 24. The 8-year-old gelding has banked more than $1.7 million in a long, productive career, and he still has some fight left in him. He needs pace help and won’t offer any value.

#1 K P Creed
(6-1) is the inside speed stepping up in class for sharp connections. The inside post is strong at this distance.

#3 Classy Class
(9-2) is a New York transplant now under the care of Justin Evans. He checked in fou-plus lengths behind his stablemate Stallwalkin’ Dude at Zia Park last time, and I am concerned about his 0-for-6 record at this distance.

#4 A M Milky Way
(15-1) makes his first start in more than eight months, and barn is 0-for-23 with this type of layoff runner. He will probably flash early speed.

The Plays:

#5 to win

Exacta 1-5-6/2

Trifecta 5-6/2-3-5-6/1
