For the first time since his five-length runaway 16 days earlier in the Grade 2 True North Stakes at Belmont Park, Jackie’s Warrior faced the clock Sunday morning.

The four-time Grade 1 winner and reigning champion male sprinter was timed at 50.2 seconds for a half-mile work over the fast main track at Churchill Downs.

Trainer Steve Asmussen already had committed the 4-year-old Maclean’s Music colt for Grade 1 summer stakes at Saratoga, namely the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap on July 30 and the Forego on Aug. 27.

There were at least 41 graded-stakes winners whose workouts were posted on Sunday’s work tabs across North America.
