Taiba had his first work since finishing third in Flightline's Breeders' Cup Classic earlier this month at Keeneland.

The Gun Runner colt could pick up his third Grade 1 win of the year in next month's Malibu (G1) after victories in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Pennsylvania Derby (G1).

Taiba worked Sunday at Santa Anita with his Bob Baffert stablemate Country Grammer, who has three second-place finishes since winning the Dubai World Cup (G1) in March.

His previous work was six days ago going three furlongs at Santa Anita Park. In his last start he placed second in the Awesome Again (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Santa Anita Park on Oct. 1 for Baffert.

Heywoods Beach (Speightstown), a two-time Grade 3 winner (2022 Tokyo City Cup, 2022 Cougar II), worked four furlongs in 47.8 seconds at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 54 works at the distance. This is his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G2) going 1 5/8 miles on the main track at Keeneland on Nov. 4 for trainer John Sadler.
