On his way to next month’s Grade 1 Pacific Classic worth $1 million, Country Grammer turned in a bullet work Sunday morning on a fast main track at Del Mar.

The 5-year-old Tonalist horse trained by Bob Baffert was clocked at 1:12.2 going six furlongs, the fastest of eight workouts at that distance.

Owned by WinStar Farm and Amr Zedan, Country Grammer will be looking to bounce back from a second-place finish to Royal Ship last month in the San Diego Handicap (G2). That was his first start since he won the Dubai World Cup (G1) in March.

Country Grammer is expected to be among the challengers who will test undefeated Flightline in the 1 1/4-mile Pacific Classic on Sept. 3 at Del Mar.
