Three Grade 1 winners turned in bullet works in training Sunday morning across North America.

In preparation for the last race of his career, the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) on Jan. 29 at Gulfstream Park, Knicks Go was clocked at 1:00.6 for his five-furlong breeze for trainer Brad Cox at Fair Grounds.

Two horses from Bob Baffert’s barn were the fastest at their distances at Santa Anita. Kalypso was timed at 48.0 seconds going four furlongs, and Country Grammer went five furlongs in 1:00.4.

There were no fewer than 40 graded-stakes winners on the work tab Sunday.

Knicks Go (Paynter), a five-time Grade 1 winner (most recent, 2021 Breeders’ Cup Classic), worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the fastest of 23 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going six furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won the Breeders’ Cup Classic going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 6 for trainer Brad Cox.

Kalypso (Brody’s Cause), a Grade 1 winner (2021 La Brea), worked four furlongs in 48.0 seconds at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the fastest of 25 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going three furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she won the La Brea (G1) going seven furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita on Dec. 26 for trainer Bob Baffert.

Country Grammer (Tonalist), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Hollywood Gold Cup), worked five furlongs in 1:00.4 at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the fastest of 27 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going six furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he won the Hollywood Gold Cup (G1) going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on May 31 for Baffert.

Letruska (Super Saver), a four-time Grade 1 winner (most recent, 2021 Spinster), worked three furlongs in 37.2 seconds at Palm Meadows on Sunday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 13 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed 10th in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 6 for trainer Fausto Gutiérrez.

Mandaloun (Into Mischief), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Haskell), worked five furlongs in 1:00.8 at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 23 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going six furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won the Haskell (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Monmouth Park on July 17 for Cox.

Two Emmys (English Channel), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Mr. D.), worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the 16th fastest of 26 works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going five furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed second in the Sycamore (G3) going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 22 for trainer McLean Robertson.

Drain the Clock (Maclean’s Music), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Woody Stephens), worked four furlongs in 48.1 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Sunday morning. Happy Saver (Super Saver), a Grade 1 winner (2020 Jockey Club Gold Cup), worked four furlongs in 48.7 seconds at Palm Beach Downs on Sunday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 14 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in the Clark (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 26 for trainer Todd Pletcher.
