Heardsdale Racing’s multiple stakes-placed filly Savingtime, trained by Vaughan Heard and ridden by Vicente Gudiel, ran down Orlyana Farm’s 9-5 shot My Dear Venezuela inside the final sixteenth to win Sunday’s $75,000 Miss Gracie Handicap at Gulfstream Park.

A 4-year-old filly by Kantharos, Savingtime won for the second time in eight career starts while covering seven furlongs in 1:23.38.

My Dear Venezuela broke from the rail and set fractions of :22.79 and :45.36 while being chased by even-money favorite Too Clever by Half. But Gudiel gained ground with Savingtime around the turn and then drove the filly past the leader with a perfectly-timed move.

Savingtime returned $17.

Gulfstream’s mandatory payout of its 20-cent Rainbow 6 resulted in multiple-winning tickets each worth $3,731.38. There was $312,190 bet Sunday into the Rainbow 6.

Racing resumes Wednesday with a 1:15 p.m. first race post time.
