Morning Report: Catching up with McGaughey, Amoss, McEntee

Horse Racing Nation's Andrew Capone is hitting the backside all summer to talk to connections at Saratoga.

In this report, he catches up with trainers Shug McGaughey and Tom Amoss, as well as Jack McEntee, assistant trainer to Kenny McPeek.

McGaughey introduces his up-and-coming filly First to Act, who makes her stakes debut on Friday in the Summer Colony.

Amoss shines some light on Misty Veil, a long shot in the Summer Colony who may have a pace advantage. He also discusses why he gave Trevor McCarthy the riding call.

McEntee checks in with Envoutante, who has been laid off since the Beholder Mile (G1) on March 5 and returns in the Summer Colony. He explains the reason for her layoff, his expectations for today, and his thoughts about the pace scenario in the race. McEntee also talks about Classic Causeway, who has been nominated for the Kobe Shimbun Hai (G2) in Japan on Sept. 25.
