A Friday night fire at Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland caused $850,000 in damage but no injuries to humans or horses.
The Cecil Whig newspaper in Elkton, Md., reported that more than 50 firefighters responded to the fire and that it damaged a barn attached to Fair Hill's Equine Veterinarian Center.
Citing the Maryland fire marshal's office, Cecil Daily reported that the blaze began around 6:40 p.m. EST on Christmas Eve and was discovered by a passerby, who alerted fire officials. Firefighters battled the fire for two hours before getting it under control, according to the report.
