Paige and Oakley Girl (GB), the 2-3 finishers respectively behind newly minted Grade 1 winner Al’s Gal in the Ladies Marathon last month Kentucky Downs, will meet again Sunday as part of a field of 13 fillies and mares for the 25th running of the $125,000 Rood & Riddle Dowager (G3).
The 1½-mile Rood & Riddle Dowager will go as the eighth race on Sunday’s nine-race program with a 4:57 p.m. ET post time.
Christophe Clement trains Paige, who finished 1½ lengths in back of Al’s Gal in the 1 5/16-mile Ladies Marathon.
Jim Wells and Cheyenne Stables owns Paige, a winner of one of four starts in 2016. James Graham will have the mount and break from post position four.
Owned by trainer Brendan Walsh, Oakley Girl made her U.S. debut in the Ladies Marathon. Oakley Girl will break from post position 13 and be ridden by Robby Albarado.
Invading from California for the race is Hronis Racing’s Elektrum (IRE) for trainer John Sadler.
Winner of the John C. Mabee (G2) at Del Mar in 2015, Electrum has placed in four graded stakes since that victory. Drayden Van Dyke has the mount on Elektrum, who will break from post position two.
