On paper, Saudi Crown was the fastest horse coming into the Grade 1, $1 million Pennsylvania Derby. Not only did he prove the fastest horse in the race, but in speed figure terms the Brad Cox trainee was the fastest stakes winner of the entire weekend. He earned a 108 Brisnet Speed Rating for his frontrunning score, as well as a 105 Beyer Speed Figure from Daily Racing Form.

Saudi Crown's victory extended his career record to 5: 3-2-0 and brought his career earnings over $800,000.

Two other runners put up Beyers over 100 over the weekend; their Brisnet figures were the two next highest on that scale as well. Like Saudi Crown, they both ran Saturday at Parx. Next posted a 104 Beyer and a 105 Brisnet rating for his 25-length romp in the 1 1/2-mile Greenwood Cup (G3). Nimitz Class, who upset Gunite in the Parx Dirt Mile, earned a 100 Beyer for that effort as well as a 103 Brisnet figure.

Here are the figures for last week's highest-rated stakes winners, ranked by Brisnet ratings, with Beyer and TimeformUS speed figures when available.
