Network Effect returns in Sunday allowance at Aqueduct

November 08, 2019 05:17pm
Klaravich Stables’ graded stakes-placed Network Effect will make his long-awaited return to the races Sunday in Aqueduct’s sixth race, a $75,000 allowance race for 3-year-olds and up going a mile on the main track.

Network Effect is one of two Chad Brown trainees set to line up on Sunday, along with fellow 3-year-old Aurelius Maximus.

Network Effect (Mark Valeski – Sandy Key Gal, by Put It Back) made three starts last year as a juvenile. After breaking his maiden going seven furlongs at Saratoga in his first start, he didn’t reappear again until November, when he finished second to Vekoma in the Nashua Stakes (G3). He then was runner-up to Maximus Mischief in the Remsen Stakes (G2) in December.

This will be the first start back for Network Effect, who will break from post 7 and be ridden by Javier Castellano.

Brown’s second runner, Aurelius Maximus, is a son of Pioneerof the Nile owned by Stonestreet Stables and George Bolton, et al. Like Network Effect, Aurelius Maximus is coming off a long layoff – his last start was in October 2018. After breaking his maiden by 7 3/4 -lengths in his second start, Aurelius Maximus made the leap into graded stakes company, where he finished fourth behind Complexity, Code of Honor and Call Paul in the Champagne Stakes (G1).

Aurelius Maximus will break from post 3 under jockey Joel Rosario.

Six others make up the field for the eight-furlong contest, which has a scheduled post time at 2:50 p.m.
