NYRA Offers $300k Pick 4's at Belmont Park

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has announced that it will offer a $300,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4 Saturdays at Belmont Park during the 2012 fall meet. The first $300,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 will be on Saturday, September 8.

Although NYRA offers daily Pick 4’s on races 2 - 5 and the final four races of the day, the $300,000 guarantee applies only to the Late Pick 4 on Saturdays. The Late Pick 4 is a 50 cent minimum wager in which the bettor must correctly pick the winners of the last four races on the card, usually beginning with race seven. By guaranteeing the wager for $300,000, NYRA will supplement the difference if the total wagering pool for the Saturday Late Pick 4 is less than $300,000.

On Super Saturday, September 29, the guarantee will rise to $500,000 in conjunction with the 94th running of the Grade 1, $1 million TVG Jockey Club Gold Cup Invitational. The Gold Cup is supported by four additional Grade 1 events: the $600,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational, the $600,000 Flower Bowl Invitational for fillies and mares on the turf, the $400,000 Beldame Invitational for fillies and mares, and the $400,000 Vosburgh Invitational for sprinters, along with the Grade 2, $400,000 Kelso Handicap at a mile on the main track.

Belmont Park’s 37-day fall meet begins Saturday, September 8, and runs through Sunday, October 28. Grandstand admission on opening weekend is free, with $2 clubhouse admission.
