i womder if Outstrip is going to dubai for the UAE derby
the rich totally believe that they are a different species
I had to laugh reading the comment the rich don't care about money. I've known a lot of rich people and they could tell you the price of anything in a grocery store, and which one had the cheapest things. One guy had a piece of every McDonalds franchise in upstate NY. besides his other enterprises. In the many years of playing poker with him any time he lost a certain amount he would quit for that particular night. Nice people yes, but they cared more about a dollar than you or I.
I'm also looking at the list of American 3 year olds who've been nominated to the UAE Derby via this same link, and there are some nice ones! Obviously, a few of these early nominees like Cairo Prince and Shared Belief seem almost impossible chances to show up in Dubai, at least in my imagination, but they aren't the only ones on the list. Bobby's Kitten, Bond Holder, Candy Boy, Dance With Fate, BC J/V Turf runner-up Giovani Boldini (a West Virginia-bred son of War Front trained by Aiden O'Brien: how interesting is that!), She's A Tiger, Tamarando, and We Miss Artie also jumped off the list at me.
The MMM part was just another portion of my comment.
If a family has an established fortune in Money and Gold, that is Coming into money...
Do not understand completely but think you are saying that they are born into money. No, they are born into oil which increases in money.
Most of those Wealth Sheikh's come into money. Earn What? Especially if you come from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, or Bahrain. If MMM goes and wins the WC he would be the leading money earner ever in North America.
tmallios you don't live near Fing Lakes do you??
Yes he does, maybe not from a financial standpoint. But from a buisiness point of view. Not only the Maktoums, but any other filthy rich peson. They did not get there by being reckless and not paying attention to the perils and dangers before them. Give them a little more credit. The amount of money in their wallets does not only define the person. They know how to maitain it and make it grow. Everything is relative in life. Hell compared to some of the unfortunate people on this earth. We here are all Maktoums to their eyes. Does that mean that you are reckless. I doubt it.
on THAT track designed for the turfers? Would take a huge effort, but best of luck
maktoum doesnt worry about getting burned he has a BOTTOMLESS PIT of money and it never stops coming. $2 million to hims like $2 to us. Makes bill gates look like ahes broke moneywise
Buzz that is not the Sheiks style anymore.About 10 years or so i would of said yes when the Economy called for it. Buying a potential Derby 3yo for the mimum of 3 Million Dollars was like a visit to the Petty Cash box for him. He got burned plenty of times. Older horses do not stroke their fires as much now. They go with the 2yos'.
the owners of mucho macho man have only owned horses a few yrs. Maktoum will make them a huge offer to buy him i wouldnt say no being new to the game
Macho has always been a speacial horse, I have always had utmost respect for him. jlp
