Modern Games, last year's champion turf male after winning the Breeders' Cup Mile, is slated to return to Keeneland from his Ireland base for his 2023 debut.

Godolphin, which bred and owns the 4-year-old son of Dubawi, announced the plan in a Twitter post, said he will start in the Maker's Mark Mile on April 14.

Modern Games, bred in Ireland and trained by Charlie Appleby, also won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile in 2021. Last year, he won three of seven starts, also scoring in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (G1) at ParisLongchamp and the Woodbine Mile (G1). He was second in two other Group 1 stakes, the Sussex Stakes (G1) at Goodwood and the Queen Elizabeth II at Ascot.

His two Breeders' Cup wins were his only U.S. appearances, and his Woodbine Mile win was his only other race in North America.
