Two winning tickets were sold for the Derby City 6 on Saturday, and they paid more than $1 million each.
According to the Churchill Downs mutuels office, one winning ticket was sold through TwinSpires.com the other at Oaklawn.
Oaklawn said in a Facebook post that the ticket sold there was bought by a couple who had been married for more than 30 years. The payoff for their $115 bet was $1,094,232.12.
The wager, with a 20-cent minimum, required bettors to pick the winners of races 7 through 12, which was the Kentucky Derby. Mage won the Derby at 15-1.
The first five races in the sequence were the Twin Spires Turf Sprint (G2) won by Nobals, the Pat Day Mile (G2) won by General Jim, the American Turf (G2) won by Webslinger, the Churchill Downs (G1) won by Cody's Wish and the Turf Classic (G1) won by Up to the Mark.
