Midnight Bisou, the 2019 champion older mare, was "off" after a workout at Saratoga Monday morning and is headed to see a veterinarian, according to a Twitter post from co-owner Jeffrey Bloom.

The 5-year-old winner of 13 graded stakes, trained by Steve Asmussen, breezed four furlongs in 50.15, seventh best of 19 at the distance. Bloom said she will be evaluated by equine surgeon Dr. Larry Bramlage, a partner in Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

The daughter of Midnight Lute finished second to Vexatious last out in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 1. Before that, she won the Fleur de Lis (G2) at Churchill Downs on June 27. That followed a four-month layoff after her runner-up finish to Maximum Security in the Saudi Cup in February.

For her next race, she was pointed to the Spinster Stakes (G1) at Keeneland on Oct. 4.
