Maximum Security, McKinzie highlight Monday's graded stakes work

Multiple graded-stakes winner McKinzie returned to work for Bob Baffert at Del Mar on Monday, taking a fast 5-furlong trip, his first work in eight days.

Another superstar in Baffert's barn, Maximum Security, also worked on Monday at Del Mar, going 5 furlongs. It his his first work since he won the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap at Del Mar on July 25. He is pointing towards the Pacific Classic.

Here's a look at the graded stakes work that took place around the country on Monday:

Max Player (Honor Code) a Grade 3 winner (2020 Withers) worked 5 furlongs in 1:01.5 at Belmont Park on Monday morning. It was the fastest of 15 works at the distance. His previous work was 7 days ago going 6 furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed 3rd in the Belmont (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Belmont Park on June 20 for trainer Linda Rice. He will make his next start in the Travers Stakes.

McKinzie (Street Sense) a four time Grade 1 winner worked 5 furlongs in 59.8 at Del Mar on Monday morning. It was the fastest of 48 works at the distance. His previous work was 8 days ago going 5 furlongs at Del Mar. In his last start he placed 5th in the Met Mile (G1) going 1 mile on the main track at Belmont Park on July 4 for trainer Bob Baffert. 

Xenobia (IRE) (Falco) a Grade 3 winner (2019 Athenia) worked 4 furlongs in 47.6 at Belmont Park on Monday morning. It was the second fastest of 75 works at the distance. This is her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed 6th in the De La Rose going 1 mile on the turf at Saratoga on July 17 for trainer Jonathan Thomas.

Next Shares (Archarcharch) a Grade 1 winner (2018 Shadwell Turf Mile) worked 4 furlongs in 49.8 at Churchill Downs on Monday morning. It was the 58th fastest of 123 works at the distance. His previous work was 9 days ago going 4 furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed 10th in the Maker's Mark Mile (G1) going 1 mile on the turf at Keeneland on July 10 for trainer Richard Baltas.
