Kempton Park Stages Unique 'Classical Canter'

The horse Action Impact was spurred on by the sound of music to win the world's first horse race run to a live musical soundtrack at Britain's Kempton Park Wednesday, 8 July.

The unique ‘Classical Canter’ was run over a distance of 1 3/8 miles as members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra played the adrenalin-inducing William Tell Overture in time to the on-track action. The music was arranged especially for the official race which lasted 2:20.34, which was 2.34 seconds off the record time for this distance.
