Four-time Grade 1 runner-up Judy the Beauty heads a field of nine fillies and mares for the 13th running of the $300,000 Madison (G1) at seven furlongs on the main track.

The Madison is the first of three Grade 1 stakes on Saturday’s 12-race program that begins at 12:35 p.m. ET. The Madison will go as the ninth race with a 4:42 post time.

Owned and trained by Wesley Ward, Judy the Beauty has compiled a record of 14-6-7-1 and has not lost in three starts at Keeneland.

Judy the Beauty got her first graded stakes win here last fall in the Thoroughbred Club of America (G2) and then ran second to champion Groupie Doll in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1). She opened her 2014 campaign with a 4¾-length victory in the Las Flores (G3) on March 9 at Santa Anita.

John Velazquez has the mount on Judy the Beauty, who will break from post position four.

Prominent challengers to Judy the Beauty include David Bernsen and Paul Makin’s Heir Kitty, winner of the La Brea (G1); Godolphin Racing, LLC, Lessee’s Better Lucky, winner of the First Lady (G1) here last fall and the 2012 Matriarch (G1); Lothenbach Stables’ Eden Prairie, runner-up in last fall’s Lexus Raven Run (G2) here; and, Rontos Racing Stable’s Wildcat Lily, runner-up in the Test (G1) last summer at Saratoga.

The field for the Madison, from the rail out, is as follows: Saturday Nthe Park (Stewart Elliott 118), Apropos (Shaun Bridgmohan, 120), Heir Kitty (Corey Nakatani, 123), Judy the Beauty (Velazquez, 120), Wildcat Lily (Irad Ortiz Jr., 118), Better Lucky (Javier Castellano, 120), Byrama (GB) (Jose Lezcano, 118), Cozze Up Lady (Rosie Napravnik, 118) and Eden Prairie (Robby Albarado, 118).
