While the Mucho Macho Man Stakes is not a 2020 Kentucky Derby points race, it may produce a starter or two in the upcoming preps at Gulfstream Park. There is plenty of pace in the paper race, and an upset might be in the cards in this one-turn, on-mile event.
Before deciding how to bet Saturday’s 10th race at Gulfstream, let's meet the field. Plus, get a look at free past performances.
#2 Chance It (9-5) finished first or second in all five local outings. He stretched out and romped when last seen in the Florida Sire In Reality on Sept. 28. The early-pressing type is firing bullets for this, but he meets other speed in a race the top Florida-bred might need.

#1 South Bend (9-2) battled on the pace and weakened in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) back on Nov. 30. He may not have cared for the wet Churchill Downs track that day. The colt is 3-for-3 in one turn races on fast dirt and should get pace to chase.
#5 Ashaar (10-1) looked good winning his seven-panel debut at Belmont Park on Oct. 12, and the show finisher was a next-out winner. He was the beaten favorite in the Nashua (G3) second time out when ran into buzzsaw and subsequent Jerome Stakes hero Independence Hall. Kiaran McLaughlin’s $650,000 purchase figures to stalk the pace and can bounce back under Joe Bravo.
#3 Smash Factor (10-1) is a sharp gelding with speed and rising numbers. He traded decisions with Chance It in his first two starts and was a clear second behind As Seen On Tv last time.
#4 As Seen On Tv (5-2) was prominent throughout in all three dirt sprints, and he ran well each time. His numbers are rising and he should attend the pace.
#6 Sole Volante (8-1) captured both of his flat mile turf starts for Patrick Biancone, including the local Pulpit Stakes on Nov. 30. He will try to get involved late on the surface switch.
#7 Inter Miami (6-1) ran away in his local $50,000 maiden claiming debut at six furlongs. This is a class test.
