The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will offer a $500,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4 on Saturdays at Saratoga Race Course.

The Late Pick 4 requires bettors to select the winners of the final four races on the card. By guaranteeing the wager, NYRA will supplement the net difference if the total pool is less than $500,000.

On Saturday, August 25, the guarantee will rise to $1 million in conjunction with the 143rd running of the Grade 1, $1 million Travers Stakes. The Travers undercard will also include the Grade 1, $500,000 Foxwoods King’s Bishop, Grade 1, $500,000 Test, and Grade 2, $250,000 Ballston Spa presented by Jose Cuervo.

The 2012 Saratoga meet will run for 40 days, beginning Friday, July 20 and ending on Labor Day, September 3.

Yes but the difference with Aqueduct casino it is easy to get to with mass transportation. Once they have card games there, it will be hard to beat. Flying to Vegas is pain and Atlantic City is a dump.
The "bloom" will pass as the market is saturated. It always looks better when it is new.
As I posted on another thread purse money is going from $670k to almost a million a day because of casino revenues. For the record the Casino at Aqueduct had the largest monthly gross of any casino in the zuZs and that includes Vegas and Atlantic City. Also according to reports Cuomo will fire the pres of the NYRA and replace the board immediately after the Saratoga meet. There are rumors that Bobbie Flay may be named to the board. Also experienced horsemen from other jurisdictions have been approached. This actually may be good news for NY racing as the NYRA has been an inbred fiasco for NY racing for years. The present gov has now finished what his father started in the 70s.
