Frac Daddy Could Show Up in Ky Jockey Club

Perhaps lost in the excitement of Breeders’ Cup Championship Saturday at Santa Anita was the performance of Frac Daddy in Saturday’s seventh race at Churchill Downs. The 2-year-old son of Scat Daddy scored a 9 ¾-length victory under David Cohen and Phil Bauer, assistant to trainer Ken McPeek, said the impressive juvenile could make his next start in the Kentucky Jockey Club (Grade II) at Churchill Downs on Nov. 24.

“He was ultra-impressive to break from the 12-hole and then draw off like that,” Bauer said. “I’m not sure what he beat, but when you win like that, it doesn’t matter. We’ll definitely look at the (Kentucky Jockey Club) and see.”

Bauer noted that Frac Daddy, who races for Magic City Thoroughbred Partners, still has room to improve with just two starts under his belt.

“If you watch his first race at Belmont, he was pretty green,” Bauer said. “He still has room for improvement, which is a scary thing.”

Nominations for the Kentucky Jockey Club close Wednesday (today). The race was won last year by WinStar Farm LLC’s Gemologist.
