Canterbury cancels Sunday racing after storms sweep area

Canterbury Park canceled racing on Sunday after heavy rain storms hit the Shakopee area Saturday afternoon and continued into the morning

The Canterbury media office said on Twitter that jockeys met with the track maintenance team Sunday morning to evaluate the track surface and voiced safety concerns leading to the cancelation. An eight-race program had been scheduled.

Racing is scheduled to resume Wednesday at 6 p.m. EDT.
