Trainer Neil Pessin reported this week that Lothenbach Stables’ Bell's the One is pointing to the June 8 Acorn (G1) at Belmont Park, the same target race as Kentucky Oaks winner Serengeti Empress.

“We know Serengeti Empress is going to be in there, but we still feel confident," Pessin said. "She’s doing so well right now you just have to give her the shot.”

The one-mile Acorn is featured on the Belmont Stakes undercard. Bell's the One will remain at Churchill Downs in Kentucky to train up to it.

The daughter of Majestic Perfection broke her maiden last September at 32-1 at Arlington Park before making it 2-for-2 with an allowance win at Keeneland. She took two stakes at Fair Grounds before her first defeat in the Ashland (G1) before bouncing back for a narrow second in the Eight Belles (G2) at Churchill Downs.

“She came out of that race very well, and she couldn’t be doing any better right now," Pessin said.

Overall, Bell's the One is 4-for-6 and seeking her first graded victory in the Acorn.
