It appears Bronze Cannon was euthanized. Grand Vent was vanned off. http://www.upi.com/Sports_News/2012/03/31/Opinion-Poll-wins-marred-Dubai-Gold-Cup/UPI-53701333203109/
Two Horses were pulled up in the "make up" running of the Gold Cup. Not the World Cup. One was Grand Vent (Ire) and the other was Bronze Cannon (USA).
EVERYONE WAIT! I am searching the Internet feverishly and NOTHING says anything about more dead horses. I do not trust Junebug for one bit. I am guessing this is a cruel joke.
Does anyone know the names of the dead horses?
Who is broadcasting it?
WHAT?? 2 more?? Freakin ridiculous!!!!
He was training so poorly they should have scratched him, had good cause.
Two more horses pulled up in the Dubai Gold cup! Now 3 horses dead in the running of that race.. How sad.. What a waste!
He needs confidence and experience on dirt and Tapeta.
We always want connections to take more chances/try different thngs, the connections of SYT have done just that.
Couldn't agree more, medlocke. I truly thought So You Think would win the race convincingly, but after seeing the absolute DREAM trip he got, he clearly just isn't the same horse off the turf. At this point, just stick to what he works best on. How about Royal Delta's trip? Brutal is putting it nicely...
So You Think had the box seat, and every chance in the world to win the DWC, and just wasn't good enough. He's had his go now on conventional dirt in the BC Classic and on synthetics in this race. I hope Aidan O'Brien will leave him racing solely on turf now? Where appears to be at his best.
